Session details
Your cohort’s join link, date, and time appear here once the schedule is confirmed. After the session, the recording will be posted here too — along with office hours, if your cohort has them.
The session runs up to three hours, including a break.
Before you join
Everything you need is listed in Studio 1 Overview: your AI ready to write code, your IDE open with a new empty project, and your workbook open. Take two minutes to confirm it before we start rather than during.
How the session runs
- You build, individually, from a short instruction.
- You stop, and write down in one sentence what problem you thought you were solving.
- Small breakout groups. You share your sentence, the assumptions you made, and what surprised you. No code sharing.
- Whole-group debrief.
- A second round, worked a different way.
- A break.
- We make sense of what happened, together.
- Reflection, and the field experiment you take into your week.
The opening exercise
Build a shopping cart. AI allowed. Use any language. Work individually. There are no tricks — build what you believe a shopping cart should be. You have ten minutes. Make as much progress as you can.
These instructions will also be on screen when the session begins, so there is nothing to memorize beforehand.
During the session
Keep your workbook open and capture things as they happen rather than afterward. What you notice in the moment is what is worth having later.
One norm for the debriefs: we are not discussing code quality. Keep the attention on understanding.
