What This Level Looks Like

Level 5 teams have internalized AI collaboration to the point where it’s hard to separate from other professional disciplines. Prompting is part of how work gets specified. Review of AI output is part of how work gets checked. Measurement of AI effectiveness is part of how practices get improved.

Individual variation is low. A new team member, given your documented practices, can produce high-quality AI-assisted work in their first week. Your AI capability doesn’t depend on any individual — it lives in the team’s systems and culture.

Your Position

Level 5 is rare. Most teams — even in highly technical organizations — never get here. You’re not just ahead; you’re ahead in a way that compounds. Teams at Level 5 improve their AI practices faster than teams at lower levels, because they have the infrastructure to learn from experience systematically.

The Honest Caveat
